I bet all of you who live in Switzerland will understand the dilemma I am about to describe to you:There is no KFC in Switzerland. *Gasp*!I may not be much of a fast food person, but KFC is an exception.
I don’t know if the reason was because KFC was the only fast food that Mum would let us have (making us promise we wont tell Dad, sneaky Mum!) or just because in Thailand KFC makes the most delicious spicy chicken wings, mhmmmm, but all I know is that KFC has a special place in my heart.
So now that you know my dilemma and background story with KFC, you can only imagine how excited I was to see KFC in Prague. Almost as excited as I would be if I spotted Frozen Yogurt. I couldn’t help myself and after having indulged in some spicy chicken wings for lunch, it was decided that dinner should be something a little classier.
So we went with V Zátiší.V Zátiší was recommended to me by my friends who went to Prague a few months ago, so we decided to give it a try. It was well worth it!
The restaurant offered three options of fixed menus, each of which came with suggested paired wines and both traditional Czech cuisine as well as (strangely enough…) Indian cuisine. I was still feeling spicy after lunch, so I decided to go for the Indian menu which I just barely managed to capture for you below before it, strangely enough, just dissapeared.
Firstly, there was complimentary smoked mozzarella in home made pesto sauce.
Apropos Indian food, a quick question for ya:What do you call an Indian babysitter?
A naan-y.
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!!
Back to seriousness. Out came my mustard tandoori tiger prawns. The below picture does not do the shrimps justice.
Then came my main. Tandoori chicken tikka masala accompanied by Quinoa with cumin, cauliflower masala, yellow lentil daal and vegetable raita. I was only able to snap one quick picture before I just couldnt keep away any longer, it was too good to be true.
Lastly on the menu was dessert and the restaurant, to keep with the Indian menu, served up tandoor-baked pineapple with pistachio ice cream. I did not think baked pineapple sounded too good since I imagined it to be all dry and crunchy but I could not be further from the truth. The baked pineapple was naturally sweet and the pistachio ice cream gave it just that additional freshness that it needed, a lovely hot and cold combination.
V Zátiší is Michelin awarded that they highly deserve. The service was perfect, the waitors were so nice and kept the wines flowing so that I left happy full and feeling fuzzy. I stumbled back in the direction to the hotel and only hesitated for a tinyyyy second in front of KFC if I wanted to get a Sundae Kreamball.
I can honestly say I was a good girl.
I had a well deserved meal and slept like a baby and you’ll see where I was off to the next day soon enough!
Love,
Rosalina

Thanks for the post, great pics. You made me remember a story that my Mom tells about her trip to Prague with my Dad. They were trying to order from one of the food venders on the main street in the heart of town, I don't know the name of the street, but at the end is the big museum. Anyway, the person behind the glass/ counter didn't speak any English so my Mom kept getting louder with her order as if louder was somehow going to help the person understand. My Dad finally told her that louder wasn't going to work.
