I love me some good Indian food and thankfully, the sister mimics my love for spices and all things Indian which is why each time she hits London-Town, we find ourselves in Dishoom. Dishoom is famous for its authentic Indian food and fun, decorative setting. While they do have two restaurants, we usually find ourselves sitting in their cozy setting by Covent Garden after a lazy day of shopping.
I’ve been there several times with many different people and everyone so far has loved it. The atmosphere is lively and bustlin’ and I have yet to find a time of day where the restaurant isn’t packed.Little tip: if you don’t have a reservation (they don’t take lunch ones) just walk in and order a Bollybellini or a Chaijito. Each time we go, we over order which is completely fine with me as it means I get a little doggy bag to take home and have dinner and lunch covered for the next day. Win-win.
As we’ve been a couple of times, we have our favorites. At the top of the list? The ocra fries/lady fingers. These babies are… (lady)finger-licking good. A bit spicy, a bit crispy, a bit warm. Go ahead, order two, you won’t regret it. That’s what we normally do!
We tried the chili cheese toast which was just what is sounds like but still cheesy deliciousness!
There’s a spicy chilli dip, a yogurty tangy dip, and last but definitely not least, a mango chutney dip. You can pretty much put it on anything, definitely put it on the lady fingers above.
You can see just see the impatience on our faces. *Can we dig in yet*
*Yes* and that’s just what I did.
The chicken tikka, the only poultry that flies… right into Rosie’s mouth at lightning speed.
The only way for a lady to eat ladies fingers is with her fingers.
Below you can see another favorite, the royal black dahl, which is a house speciality and super amazing. You MUST order it if you go. MUST.
The paneer ain’t half bad either, super good but if you also order the chicken ruby as well (like we did) and the black dahl, you may have a few too many red curry dishes.
Make sure you mop it all up with some cheesy naan. Or you can go for one of their freshly made rotis, which you can see them doing right in front of you, skillfully. You’ll need either a naan or a roti if you aren’t as good with spices as we are. We’ve got years of practice, just look at these stoic faces.
Bom-BYE! (see what I did there!).
Love,
Juliana
MMMMmmm you make us hungry. I also love Indian food and we have a lovely restaurant close to my house called Banjaara. Their Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma and Naan is to die for. Enjoy

I'm suffering too. I had a burger today, and it was good, but... it just doesn't compare to these pictures.
