A Final Tribute to @adept & Reminder to Appoint a Steemit Beneficiary

in blog •  7 years ago  (edited)

I didn’t know @adept personally. I’m sure I’ve read a few of his posts, as his name sounds familiar.

He seemed like a pretty cool guy from the few minutes of YouTube videos; and, all the high accolades left by fellow Steemians.

He left a hefty six-figures in his Wallet; which, brings to mind Steem’s beneficiary policy. Presumably, it doesn’t have one. I suppose this is a reminder to all, to leave a paper copy of your keys in a locked box with all other ‘final’ papers. It should be in a sealed envelope with details of how to access should that time come unexpectedly.

Of course, many will leave it in the Wallet for posterity, to grow future Steem; but, that wouldn’t be very smart, from a business perspective. You’ve earned it. It’s yours to pass on if need be.

Lastly, while it was good to hear all of the fond farewell wishes for @adept, I think it dishonors him to make such a final announcement without a hint of the cause of death. It leaves people to speculate, taking attention away from the fact that he will no longer be a voice on the platform.

If it was suicide, all the more reason to share, if for no more than to increase the empathy/awareness among users, and perhaps, stop some of the warring going on. Most Steemians on this platform will never meet, and know very little about what people are going through in their real-world existence.

Of course, I’d hate to hear that such a positive spirit took this path; but, it wouldn’t be the first encounter of such. Many people who show external happiness, are dying slow deaths inwardly.

I just thought I’d take the time to put a spin on death and its many causes; be it sickness, accidents, natural demise.

Prayers for those he left behind to grieve. I’m sure he will be missed.

May he find peace as he continues his journey; as, by faith, I believe that we are all eternal beings, with a designed destiny, be it heaven…be it hell. (Ecclesiastes 7:2, 2 Peter 3:9).

Best regards.

Peace.

May he rest in Peace.

Amen, indeed. Having to check out before life really begins seems tragic and sad; even though @adept probably lived a much fuller life than people 3x his 29 years. ✌!
