I never do something for the sake of doing it, or for a trivial reward like money. That's the excuse for just one post so far.
I also find amazingly interesting that our own creations struck us. It's a recursive function that tell us a lot about our nature, and we came to accept it and further use it in creations that, yet again, struck us. "The human nature" you see under the theme paragraph, whether written down, for everybody to understand that that (God, I've been waiting to use this) specific product of imagination relies on it, or thought of, in your own mind, as you realize that everything we do is a mirror in which we see ourselves. Or, at least, we should.
And then we have those that say that it is a two-way mirror, and somebody is watching, judging and waiting us at the end. Then we have those who say it's a normal mirror and you don't need a ghost behind the glass to tell you whether you're doing something wrong or not.
Then we have those who say that it doesn't matter. That we should focus on what we are actually doing. And how. And when. And why. And why should we care, why should we strive, why should we stress out for what we're doing, why should we do to nullify the stress.
There comes art, music, passion. And these sum up everything that's behind them in a canvas so clear you need only look.
Everyone has their canvas. These canvases are unique, for they are the way we view this world and, as John Locke said, it is unique. I am the only one to have gone through what I have gone, and thus, I am the only product like me. And I view the world in a way that is only mine. And so is my canvas.
I want my canvas as diverse as possible. I want my painting to be as battle-scarred as I can. I want to reach the end of my live knowing I experienced as much as I could; and I want to throw bits of everything I went through so that I can remember everything. I want to sum up so much so that I can say that yes, I lived.
Everybody learns. Everybody is intimately touched by the world around. Unconsciously, everybody writes their song with all their tools. And then they play it, for others to hear and learn.
Could we live with only creations? Yes, but there would be no depth at all. We wouldn't understand war, famine, thirst, fatigue, boredom, excitement, happiness, love, ecstasy. Could we live without? Yes, but there would be no point at all. See "Dead Poets Society", 1989.
Work is the glass. Creation is the juice.
Ten thousand tastes in that juice, maybe you've missed some of them. Maybe, like in progressive music, you didn't know what to look for. Maybe you deemed something as useless, or worse, and decided it's not worth it.
I just point out different things in different creations, maybe you'll see them, filter them, and add them to your song.
Now go paint your canvas.
