In the last post in this series, I was talking about building a new Video/Music editing Suite / Studio for @isaria.. I have already made some changes, because of ADD. Ugh.
The First change:
I canceled the i7-8700 and ordered the i7-8700k instead. The 3.2 compared to 3.7 clock speed and the small price difference changed my mind. So I paid the $30 difference and went for it.
The Hard Drive
I went with the Samsung Evo 250GB M.2 drive.
I didn't know these things were so tiny. Smaller than a stick of RAM, depending on the size of your monitor, it's probably smaller than the picture above.
The motherboard can handle these easily, and the incredibly fast read/write speeds made this a no-brainer - $120
The RAM
When the hell did RAM prices skyrocket? Jumping Jesus! Well, this one will be a future upgrade.
But for now I went with the Corsair Vengence 16GB 2400MhZ. - $200
Power Supply
I spent more time on this than I should have. Let's face it, PSUs are boring, and reading about them are even more so.
Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series SSR-850FX 850W - $100 after $20 rebate! BOOM - REBATE, BITCHES!

Grand total from last post - $544. + $30 Swap of the CPU = $574 + today's additions = $994. Looking good. - Wait, no. I just realized I forgot to add a WIFI solution. Let's see what sort of obnoxious thing I can find. crosses fingers that @isaria doesn't read this
It looks like I have one more post to write on this, so I'll save the CASE, the WIFI (whatever that turns out to be), and any other goodies for another post.

I don't know much about witnesses but I see that you are one, so I am also going to add you there. (I know it doesn't matter at my size, but I have confidence that your a great guy because you picked me) haha :)
I realize the bigger people here can't focus on the little guys out of sheer volume of people, but if you ever want to see what we are doing you can follow us on #newbieresteemday (or see a lot of it also on my blog)... Your delegation will be used to further that cause and you should at least know that you are linked to its future success!
