PlayStation 4 has been a great success for Sony, but it seems as things are slowing down - at least in terms of sales of equipment.

The company has just announced that it has sold 19 million units in 2017 after selling 20 million in 2016.The forecast for the current year ending March 2019 is 16 million. For comparison, Nintendo expects to sell 20 million Switch pieces in the same period. In total, Sony has sold more than 76 million PS4s, which means it has to achieve PS3 success this year. This is not necessarily bad news for Sony because the company is making more money and expects it to continue at this pace.PlayStation's business brought 17.8 percent more revenue year-on-year, bringing an operating profit of 177.5 billion yen ($ 1.62 billion).
That's because Sony is selling more PS4 programs than ever and attracting more PlayStation Plus subscribers. For this year, Sony predicts a slight decline in revenues due to lower sales forecasts, but a 7 percent increase in profit.
