The Curious Case of Elon Musk

“Listen to this, they say that Elon Musk is sleeping in the Tesla factory floor, and has no time to go home and shower.

That guy is an animal.

Has there ever been a guy who does more shit?

What he’s done… He’s in the middle of making that boring company that bores holes under the ground, he’s in the middle of that high-speed train, he’s in the middle of the Hyperloop, he’s in the middle of SpaceX, he’s in the middle of Tesla production…etc.

He’s gonna provide world wide internet… Dude, how’s one guy able to do so much?

...He’s our guy!” ― Joe Rogan

There’s only a fine line between a genius and a madman, that’s what they tell you.

But what they don’t tell you about is that moment when a certain person ceases to be a crazy person and transforms into a genius… In a matter of split seconds.

That snap switch happens almost as instantly as they cross the thin red line that separates the “winners” from the “losers” in the eyes of society.

And that red line is constituted by one sole component: Success.

The problem dear reader, is that success isn’t a fixed concept, but rather a fluctuating element with plenty of ups and downs, just like any other aspect of life.

So the minute that one of these misunderstood visionaries faces an adversity, hits a roadblock, or even have their stocks tumble… It would be only a matter of minutes before all the old criticisms are dug back from the shallow grave and put into display one more time.

It’s time to bring the “crazy” label again.

You could observe this phenomenon in the recent unrelenting blasts on Elon Musk’s persona.

I don’t know what the man did to piss everybody off, but rare is the day where you log in to read the news and you don’t find a suggestive piece hinting you to start considering Elon Musk as a main villain of society.

And as crazy as it may sound, that’s all there is, suggestive thinking. Not one single tangible reason in the long list of daily hit pieces.

It’s like pulling teeth to find a single valid argument that justifies such animosity towards an individual who is driven by making life easier for mankind.

And then you ask yourself, what dangers do Musk pose to any of us?

For the average Joe, none what’s so ever. If you don’t like Teslas, nobody is forcing you to drive one.

It’s not like you’re forced to watch his interviews on YouTube or read his every tweet.

You could just walk away, or better even, click away.

Of course, the story changes dramatically if you happen to have a stake in the fossil fuels business.

In that case then yes, alternative sources of energy do indeed present a conflict of interest towards your pocket book.

Up until now, big oil used to be the easiest business model (or the most barbaric, depending on which lens you see things with).

All you have to do is to find some rich-oil countries, destabilized or invade them and you have yourself a nice supply of resources that you can acquire with virtually no cost (barring the millions upon millions of decimated lives of course).

And here’s the kicker: You don’t have pay for the labor force either. You let the taxpayers pick the tab for that on your behalf.

What you do is sell them a spin-off version of that good ol’ story about “honor” and “duty”, you mix it with whatever flavor of patriotism you want to season your story with.

Make it so irresistible so that people can eat it all up without questioning.

Speaking of bulshit stories, mention apart deserve Mainstream News, the undefeated heavyweight champion of exaggerated claims and fabricated enemies.

Or as the great comedian George Carlin used to call them “The unpaid employees for the Department of Defense.”

From the Tonkin Incident leading to the Vietnam War, to the Kuwaiti Incubator Babies Hoax leading to The first Gulf War, to Brian William’s infamous I Was There Lie in Iraq 2.0 pretending to be in a fictional helicopter attacked by fabled enemies using imaginary weapons.

It’s always the same story, and they never seem to shy away from repackaging and selling it.

You see, for the oil (and war?) industry, nothing would be more adversarial is if people started to move away from fossil fuels and onto new sources of energy.

It doesn’t take a genius to observe how detrimental Teslas are to their business model, and why demonizing Musk can affect its stocks and public perception.

In fact, they have an incentive for that. So does the mainstream media “The unpaid employees for the Department of Defense" who probably have to maximize the profits of their sponsors.

The question remains for you and me, why the hell should we jump on the animosity bandwagon to hate on a man that is driven by making the world a better place?

Final Thoughts

When we look back at history, we all realize how geniuses and revolutionaries have been persecuted, badgered and shamed by the masses.

We say to ourselves that if we lived in that era, that we would be the anomaly.

That we would recognize that these brilliant minds were putting their heart, sweat and tears to make the world a better place for us and for future generation.

We understand that these revolutionaries presented a threat to the power stability of the Status Quo, and that’s why they loathe them.

The masses on the other hand, they had no vested interest in bringing them down. In fact, they were shooting themselves in the foot by doing so.

Let’s not repeat the same mistake again and fall for the quintessential trap.

“Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride - SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry! Look at my big bank account, and my family! This just HAS to be real!"

It's just a ride. And we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok.” ― Bill Hicks

Jaja claro que si! Hacen falta muchos mas :)

Bigger isn't always better!!

That's true.

No matter if Tesla becomes a winner or loser, Elon Musk has transformed the auto and solar industries. In the next few years a number of big automakers are coming out with sleek, fast, and efficient all-electric cars. Musk has defined a slice of our future.

That's an excellent point! Either way he has transformed the sector forever, and as Andreas Antonopoulous used to say "Once a technology is invented, it cannot get uninvited".

In this case Musk paved the way and more innovation is to come as you say.

Thanks for the great comment man!

Ohh, you said that well! I Love Elon's work. And he's thinking is outside the box (too bad that most of us don't see it)!

I agree with everything that you said here... Here's one upvote for this, see you around :)

Thank you Mikaella! See you around :)

Well he is defintely changing the world with the thoughts and bringing that into existence person with great vision and knowledge to be in short he is the iron man in real life with all the sci fiction in mind hahah ;p

Haha yeah all he needs is the Iron Suit right?

P.S: I think people should leave him alone so he could focus on collecting Infinity Stones before Thanos arrives ;)

Elon Musk is the personification of technology advances that will help our future. This is a very worthy article.

Thank you very much Alejandro, I'm glad you liked the post.

You're right btw, he seems like the image of modern advancement.

Great article. I was just asking someone the same question. How can someone go from Golden boy to villian in such a short span. Seems like the propaganda machine is kicking in to protect it's own selfish interests. How dare anyone look out for the masses!

I love Elon, even through all of this hate from the press and for lack of a better term "fake news" he still pushes through. Elon will go down in history as one of the greats.

I certainly get the point and conclusion (I hope at least) - visionaries usually have hard times in their present based on various reasons - people hat new things, they have no trust in new stuff, they only see mad things that personalities do. Remember most pioneers are indeed a bit crazy, no doubt.

Personally I am not a Musk and not a Tesla fan - I even think that he is not as visionary as he claims to be but he is (or has) a perfect marketing engine and I am sure all we see (even bad PR) is a planned scenario. But I might be wrong as well :-). Great post- thanks for that.

Great article and spot-on! :-) Thanks for a great read @the-alien!

Very nice post
