Marvel's Spider-Man 2 should base its venom on its best video game avatar

Spider-Man's biggest enemy, Venom, is a funny character, but he has been seen many times in comics, video games and beyond. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 release trailer reveals that Symbiot will return to the sequel to Insomniac, which puts the game in a challenging position. If successful, it can differentiate itself and revive fans ’love for the character. However, it also carries a huge risk of depression.

The game should avoid brushing Venom's story the way its predecessor did with some of his opponents. If it is to blow fans away with the depiction of Venom, then Insomniac will have to see how the iconic Symbiot Supervillain has been presented to gamers before. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 developer Shaba Games' Spider-Man: Web of Shadow and Neversoft's Spider-Man should be noted. One of those games gets Venom right, the other makes him completely wrong.
Web of Shadow doesn't understand why Poison acts as a character. A city with a symbiotic and bonded version of the iconic superheroes and supervillains may seem like a population theory, fun in theory, but as the basis of a video game, it has proven to be at the top. The Web of Shadow Venom has missed its full point, which is much more complicated than jumping around another Hulking monster trying to attack the planet. In contrast, the 2000 Spider-Man captured it almost perfectly. In order to understand the importance of hitting or missing these games, it is important to understand who Venom is in the comics.

Venom was created in The Amazing Spider-Man # 300 (by David Michelini with Todd McFarlane's artwork) with a design to highlight the monstrous nature of the symbiot, buried inside humans. In fact, before McFarlane came up with Venom's look, he was told that Eddie Brock was inside the suit. The living costume Spider-Man once wore was now, now driven by vengeance and hatred of how the wall-crawler rejected it. It was driven by Brock, who hated Spidey, a former Daily Armpit journalist.

Brock had his own reasons for hating Web-Head. The capture of Sean-Eater Spider-Man results in the destruction of Brock after the real identity of the journalist Sean-Eater is misplaced. Brock lost his credibility and could not find work. He has lost his wife, his family and his mental health has deteriorated. When he hits his lowest point, Eddie Symbiot and finds a new purpose: to kill Spider-Man.
Everything about Venom reflects its roots and drive. He was obsessed with Spider-Man and showed it in features like the spider symbol and symbiot he wore on his chest. As a character, Venom was a corruption of everything that stood for Spider-Man, misguided morality, and refused to take responsibility for his own failures and actions.

That being said, poison was never bad. Michelini even later introduced the Carnegie Symbiot to further clarify the antiheroic properties of Venom. Venom was not a villain for the same reason as other members of the Spider-Man villain gallery. Poison worked in its own crooked way to protect the innocent.

When it comes to video game adaptation, no one has hit the nail on the head more effectively than the 2000 Spider-Man. Much like Web of Shadow, Spider-Man features a symbiotic attack, albeit on a much smaller scale. The difference between the two games is that Spider-Man has focused heavily on Eddie Brock and Venom, their stupid, hostless symbiotic players will fight next. The opening movie quickly establishes internal conflicts, insecurity, and anger that drive away his view of Eddie Brock and Spider-Man. When Spider-Man proves his innocence, Venom helped the superhero in his fight against the real opponents of the game: Doc Oak and Carnegie.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 shouldn't necessarily take the same light-hearted approach to poison as the 2000 Spider-Man, but it should pay some attention to Venom's drive and internal struggles. It is uncertain whether Eddie Brock will be the host of Alien Symbiot in the game Insomniac or some have speculated that the host will be Harry Osborne. Either way, Insomniac has the opportunity to portray Venom as more than just a monster, and it needs to take advantage of this through the peer's hatred of Spider-Man and his desire to be a deadly protector.

It has been hinted that Craven Hunter is in this game, but he shouldn't steal the spotlight from the more complex villains. Judging by Craven's seventies in the trailer, it can be seen that the animalistic villain will be similar to his comic book counterpart in inspiration. A supervillain looking for a challenging victim is not as interesting as an aspiring hero who takes turns in hatred and insecurity.
With Marvel's Spider-Man, Insomniac has proven that even the most deadly Spidey fans can trust the developer with myths. Treyark's stabbing in Venom in Ultimate Spider-Man was nowhere to be found, Benox's Spider-Man: Friend or foe never came close to success and of course Spider-Man: The Web of Shadow made a good attempt but failed. Poison is a difficult character to find properly, but Insomniac can give fans a story of poison like any other subject.
