If it's being an author, do it! If you wanted to change careers, start taking certified courses and do it! If you wanted to open your own business, start developing your product, business plan, strategy, and contacts...but just do it! We have a huge opportunity to change the path that we have traveled. Oh boy. u missed a lot. Basically Steem Blockchain Hardforked and now there is Hive which operates under a different set of rules.
Basically after the purchase of the company Steem Inc, the Steem blockchain got taken over by a centralized entity. The vast majority of the Steem community opposed and the result was a hard fork. You can now be censored on Steemit (many ppl have already been) and any1 who values decentralization has migrated to Hive. I am still active on both chains for my own reasons tho ;)
