Role models

in blog •  7 years ago

A role model is the person who inspires you or who in some way is an example for you, this may be close to you or an idol you want to appear, is that person in which their actions, way of life or philosophy of life make you want to improve and be stronger in what you think is important.

They say that having a role model at a young age stimulates the development of the individual and is found by the person with or without help, in my case my parents were obviously my first role models, that with their successes and mistakes, I believe that in spite of their defects, one as a son sees the sacrifices they make for us, that is something that I value immensely of them. Then there was my older sister who still has the most amazing person in the world, but beyond those great people who live with me and who I saw every day I found a role model in one of my cousins much older than me, I was entering adolescence, that process of finding my true personality and it was with his record produced and sung by his rap musical group that I was forming who I am now.

I can say that when I was ten years old I listened to his album every day, presuming that he was my cousin in school and what his lyrics said were slowly creeping into me in what was to grow and see the reality of the place where We lived (January 23, popular area of Caracas). As for his way of being, his attitude and his style also took on meaning for me, I could see that he got everything he now has with a lot of effort while still being himself, without getting away from his essence and that nowadays I see him Similarly.

Arriving at my adulthood, while discovering that I would like to study at the university, it was there when I noticed one of my cousins, also older than me, who studied graphic design, I also took her as a role model for all the style they had their jobs, their way of being, style and lifestyle. Although I could not study the same as her, I found a similar career in which I can apply everything I learned to follow in her footsteps, even today I hope she recognizes my work when I reach my goal.

As I also have hobbies, like almost everyone in the world, my favorite is to play basketball, and what better model to follow than King LeBron James ?, Because of my admiration for him, I have studied, practiced and trained his game , so much so that I have been recognized on the courts as "King", although I know I'm not so good, but at the end of the day it makes you feel good about yourself.

Beyond all athletic excellence as a basketball player, his discipline to be the best today, I put it as my idol's top for humanity that is coming from a humble place and overcome to become a basketball big star, LeBron James has never forgotten his roots, a fact that can be noted by all the works and charitable actions that he has under his command in the place where he grew up and that the most essential thing for him is education in young people. It is for that reason that I would like on some scale to do something similar to what he does and to get to know him one day is one of my greatest dreams.

So, is it important to have role models? Yes, because they help you imagine how you want to see yourself in a few years, your actions motivate you to achieve it; your admiration for them guides your actions so that you achieve your own goals, and it is in part, the desire to make them feel proud of yourself what gives you that necessary push.

No, having a model does not mean that we want their life, and in the end, as I expressed in my article, we have several, what we are taking from each one is what leads us to plan our lives and our own goals, whether find them at an early age when you are building your personality or later when you are drawing your dreams in your mind.
