The @OriginalWorks Bot & My Journey!

For the past few weeks I have been busy building the @OriginalWorks bot. I am proud to say that it is doing very well! No clue what I am talking about? Check out the FAQ here.

First comes failure

As many of you know, I struggled a lot in making this. In the very beginning it took me almost a week just to get the development environment set up properly! I was spending days dealing with compatibility issues, and went through different computers as well as different operating systems(Linux) until I finally got it all working. I even made a long post about my failures!

Then comes the light

As I slowly got things working, progress started showing itself. Within a week after setting up everything I needed to develop in Python, I was off to a hot start. It has now been a few weeks since the initial release of the bot.

Alpha Phase

At first I started experimenting with the alpha version. This version of the bot made numerous mistakes and required a lot of tuning. Thanks to people who used my bot, I was able to fix up a number of major issues early on! I spent hours a day going through every response the bot made to make sure it didn't make a mistake.

Current Stage

I guess it is now in early beta. I am adding many new features, but a usable version is definitely there. This makes me very happy given the ridiculous amount of time I invested in it. I am also very thankful to my users, who make it all worth it!

Share your programming experiences & struggles with me!

Good job friend....

Enjoyed reading the description. I appreciate the coding and testing time it required. I actually didn't realize this was a bot account so I am going to learn more about your initiative.

This is my main account :)

@OriginalWorks is a bot.
