The Coronavirus

It's about the only thing news is reporting about these days. Since the last days of february there are 128 infections in the Netherlands. Compared to China or Italy for instance the ammount of infections are not that high but people are worried.

whether it is justified must be proven. I am still convinced that, no matter how sad, the number of deaths and infections is many times less than other diseases such as the flu. You hardly hear anybody about this and it is widely accepted. Do I see this so wrong?

Of course, what is worrying is the speed with which the virus travels around the world and there is no vaccine yet. The weaker people among us are unfortunately the victims of this.

I am curious how it is locally with you, do you have a lot of panic or contamination? What do you do about it yourself, do you leave it for what it is or do you really take measures?

I like to hear it,

Good evening,
Peter

We have nothing so far around where I live. Which is pretty strange because we have lots of international travelers from the industry near us. Over here we are at least getting a little bit of a mix up in the news with the presidential election stuff. So between those two things, that is about all our news is. I agree, it seems that people who are relatively healthy are in a better spot than some others.

Well, In holland they have taken some bigger measures at the moment. Me and my wife are both ordered to work from home (and with us a lot of others). Soccer matches and training are canceled. In the supermarkets people are going crazy buying loads of toilet paper.. Unbelievable, like if world war three has started. Middle and elementry schools are still open But I think they will close soon too....

We have a lot of that over here too. The thing we have going for us is the space. There is just a lot of open distance outside the cities. Store shelves are pretty bare though.

Well it is because it is treated as a infectious disease. It isn't just some flu it's anew strain everybody gets sick and 14% of the population will die. If it gets out if hand I believe.. But also the economical damage would be legendary. It's also agaaaain all about money.

First wave of the Spanish flu was only 2% and it still dropped nearly 25-30% of the population due to complications.

This is definitely serious. The hospitals look to be swamped quick.

Have food and treat this. We have 2 types so far. So you can get this 2 times.

Yes I know this is serious... a guy on my work says hey... there are too much people on the earth... I don't understand the hustle you get sick you die or live... I stopped talking about it knowing he is on another level of the conversation... of life...

It's the death of people and your job your income and life as you know it. Whole country's will be shut down... multiple people in your direct environment who you love you have to say goodbye forever... others will lose everything they have.. businesses will go bankrupt... banks/insurances will go bankrupt. But... people who you love you can never see them again...

Huge hits to come from stopping half of the world's manufacturing.

Definitely seeing Washington and California declare emergencies. And so there are a cluster here in Oregon as well.

There is some confusion. It is coming prepare for at least a month of this.
