Sam, Senna and I went for a round of golf at 08.00 clock in the morning. There are 3 different golfcourses on the resort, we went to walk the "Legends Walk". A 9 hole course right between the holiday homes. We picked up the clubs and carts en went to the first hole. In was incredibly hot that day, so soon my t-shirt was if it came right out of the pool. The greens of almost all holes where between bunkers, so it was a bit tricky but we managed well. Sam was our trained golfer, he also plays golf in Holland.
When we drove to the Golfcourse this morning we saw two very big birds walking on the road. While playing golf we saw them again on hole 7. Senna hit the ball and it was straight to the birds, no intention, one of the birds jumped in the air. It was a very funny sight. After two hours we finished 9 holes and lost about 6 liter of sweat, Senna also broke a driver so we were curious if we had to pay for it (is was in bad condition). But we didn't have to pay for it, they even appoligized.. Service...
Today its our last day at this resort. It is definitely a beautiful resort , no doubt, but for us just a little too big.). Orlando is beautiful and also huge but fully focused on the large parks in and around Orlando. There are huge shopping mall's and other shopping paradises but it lacks (as far as we are concerned) a bit of "The holiday feeling", dont get me wrong, we had a great time but it’s all highways’, shops and parks. It was greet to experience. If definatly contributed to our “Amirecian vibe”
I just read that Orlando has a fairly low unemployment rate, I believe yes. If you only see how many people work directly and indirectly for the big parks, resorts and shops ... Bizarre. Yesterday we drove past a huge and beautiful property of Disney, only meant for the casting for the Disney characters in the parks.
Tomorrow we leave, via a nice ride, to Sarasota. A place on the Florida coast. Beautiful beaches, beautiful surroundings. We are very curious. The daughter of friends of ours spent a year in the USA at school last year, in Sarasota. So we have some preliminary info :)
