We are already on day three of our great trip to the states, we are still in New York.
The plan was to first make a tour with the Hop on Hop off bus, unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our site. We decided to take the metro (yes, really, we world travelers on the subway) to Central park to see the beauty of this park. We ended up in a Rickshaw and were chauffeured through Central Park by bike. Central park is big, we knew that from the books and leaflets, but once you are there it is special to see that in the middle of a metropolis with so much activity, large buildings and crowds a mega park where the New Yorker can come to rest, or just jogging or as we step into a carriage or Rickshaw tourists :); You can find everything to do, sports fields, playgrounds, a real zoo. Really great to see and experience. Our guide showed us spots that were used in films (home-alone for example) and TV series (the fountain in the series friends). It was really nice to recognize things while you have never been there before. Many famous stars live around Central Park. So we have seen the apartment of Lady GaGa, the former house of the Kennedys and of course the apartment complex where John Lennon lived and where he was murdered nearby. Again lots of impressions and glad we had a guide who told us all the ins and outs, we had never known that ourselves.
After central park we walked in the direction of Time Square, it rained heavily so we bought a few umbrellas. On the way we stopped at The Hardrock Cafe New York, it was cool to see. Some photos are a repeat of yesterday's photos, but there are some new ones as well;)
After we had a nice meal at Chelsea Market we went to the hotel in time, tired but satisfied. Ultimately good choice, we got a kind of American Amber Alert. There was heavy weather coming with a lot of thunderstorms and flooding ... Of the latter we do not easily suffer on the 20th floor :). For tomorrow there is again some Hop on and Hop of rides to come.
