The past 30 days have been hectic here on the Steem blockchain. Starting with the sale of Steemit, the Soft Fork, the hostile takeover, and the subsequent war with the witnesses, ending with the most recent Hard Fork that will start the Hive blockchain.
Recent events can be seen as the end of a stage, in which many valuable people leave the Steem blockchain and the unwritten values of this community are forgotten, or as a new opportunity to start with a new image and renewed in Hive .
My thoughts on this have been crossed and somewhat confusing, because although I did not initially support the Soft Fork in which Steemit's stake was frozen, from then on it seems to me that the actions taken by Steemit Inc. have been erratic and malicious, with the downvotes, hidden posts on Steemit (which is the closest thing to censorship that can be done on this blockchain), and of course the use of the Steemit stake to place new witnesses on a blockchain which, due to its size, is already centralized enough.
I think the values of freedom, liberty, and decentralization, so highly acclaimed on this blockchain, are slowly disappearing, and I think that if we continue down this path, this place would be practically no different from any other social network, with censorship, centralization, and unilateral changes, the only difference being the additive of making money.
I also believe that the Steemit leadership is making a big mistake in opposing a large part of the community and that struggles like this, far from benefiting us, ended up dividing us and tearing apart what little has been built.
As you know, trust is the only thing that gives value to both fiat money and cryptocurrencies, nothing more, just the willingness of people to use money, and therefore I believe that the community is the most valuable asset that this blockchain has, so much so that I would consider Steem more of a community than a blockchain. This has always been the strength of Steem, in my opinion, over other cryptocurrencies, a great community that supports it, and that can make people without any knowledge of crypto can get started quickly in the cryptomarket. For this reason, I believe that any action that seeks to divide, diminish, or reduce the community is a big mistake, and mistakes like that have been done a lot so far.
Neither Steemit nor Steem have a future without some people, and right now we are facing a crisis in this precise aspect, for that reason, the future of this blockchain is dark now.
I really believe that in the future it can shine, and that if mistakes are admitted, as well as if hostility is left behind, and corrected, something great can be built, with all the potential that Steem has to develop. Although there is little we can do more than stay on the lookout, and that says a lot about the course that is being taken now.
That said, I hope that a better future can be found in the Hive blockchain, where the values of this community find their continuation, and where it can start again but with all the added experience. At least that's what I hope.
As I said earlier, my position is ambivalent and for now, I will choose to stay on the two blockchains, hoping for the best future for both, and without waiting for the death of either. The reasons for this are several, but mainly two.
First of all, it seems to me that the blockchain itself is small as a whole, and divided the number of people is much less, therefore, I think that staying in one of the two chains reduces the content and makes this place really look inhospitable. I don't think it is a good option to limit yourself to just one option.
And secondly, the biggest asset of both Steem and Hive, as I said earlier is the community, and therefore, I believe that as long as there are value users here, and as long as the people I follow continue to post on this blockchain, I will choose to stay, the same applies on both sides.
Therefore, I think that the best thing is to stay in both places, and look out for the future in both chains.
They say that the interest of a person is where his money is, and right now, my money is on both sides, although I really don't think that that saying is true, I think my interest is on the side where my values are positioned, and where my ideas find a place, there I will be. And that place is still Steem today, although it might not be tomorrow, and in that case, the best alternative is Hive. Although I really hope that this point is not reached, and that all this finds a solution.
Without more to say, I hope the best for both blockchains, that was it, thanks!

Theres no future here. Steem is dead. They can buy steemit and the massive stake to commandeer the steem network but they cannot own the community or the developers and one must be bonkers And Giant Faggot Idiot Gook to think that Steem has a future without either, let alone both.

Agree.
Many people seem to think just like you, judging by how fast this place is getting empty.
