EXCLUSIVE: Britain's drone hot-spots revealed as UK police forces investigate almost 900 complaints from the public including claims that paedophiles are using the devices to spy on young children
- Almost 900 complaints have been made by members of the public about nuisance flights by drones across Britain
- Greater Manchester Police was the busiest force investigating 90 complaints about drones during 2015
- According to a Freedom of Information Act request, some complaints related to so-called Peeping Toms
- One person in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire reported a drone to police shortly before a burglary took plac
The most drone-buzzed hot-spots of Britain are revealed today.
Freedom of Information enquiries to police forces around the UK show there were 860 calls about drones flying over residential properties last year – with householders in Greater Manchester suffering the greatest nuisance with 90 complaints alone about intrusive or disruptive drones.
Logs from police also show how the drones – freely available to buy in toy and gadget shops priced from hundreds to thousands of pounds - are being used to cause a nuisance, spy on neighbours, act as aerial Peeping Toms ‘filming females’, carrying out anti-social behaviour. or conduct suspicious and potentially illegal actions.
The drone video "Kjerag from the air" is made by 17 year old Simen Haughom from Norway. In only two months, the video has become an internet sensation, with over 60 million views in social media. Last week, over 20 million Americans watched it, and it is still spreading all over the world. Many big Facebook pages have published the video, and Bright Side is one of the biggest, see link below.

Video technology and science converge on an active volcano in Vanuatu, where explorer Sam Cossman operated camera-mounted drones to capture high-definition images of the spectacular yet dangerous Marum Crater. Cossman and his team piloted the drones over the 7.5-mile-wide (12-kilometer) caldera while confronting toxic gases and boiling lava.
