Hello everybody, I just wanted to drop by and broadcast how excited I am about the new season of, X-Files! I am absolutely sure, that I am not alone in this euphoric sense of excitement. Back in the day, X-Files was a huge thing; and I’m sure many still remember it. Even if you are not a hard core sci-fi nerd like myself, you will still probably have some recollection of it.
The series kicked off in, 1993 and ran for 9 seasons ending in, 2001. There were even additional movies released, a spinoff series (The Lone Gunmen), and items such as comic books, and games made. Over all, I would adventure to say; it had an impact on our culture, and possibly may peoples lives. When the time came for it to end; many of us were left sad, and confused.
Many years later, the passion was reignited again with talk of another season. Fans like myself, were overjoyed with the thought of an X-Files reboot. After all, the storyline never really came to a solid ending. We were just hopping that it was going to be done correctly, and hopefully move forward.
In late, January, 2016 the official, season 10, was aired on, Fox. I was so excited that I could hardly stand the wait; but my heart sank when I realized there were only going to be 6 episodes. What did this mean? Was the series going to end, or were they going to leave us hanging again? Even though the ordeal was painful, it appeared that we were left hanging again. I was personally happy to see this. Yes it was frustrating, but it gave me hope that there would be more to come. I was not ready for the X-Files to come to a sudden end.
I was actually quite happy with the idea of having two new young agents come into the scene. I was even more excited that they seemed to be like children. The last thing we needed were hardened professionals that were going to instantly take the place of, Mulder and Scully. A sudden transition like that into a new era of X-Files, would just be wrong. A smooth change like this would give, Fox and Dana time to properly bring the new agents into the fold. I feel this will give the fans a nice way to gracefully say good bye to the old era, and hello to the new.
Season 10, didn’t really leave us with a definite answer as to if we were going to be getting more; although it did elude to the idea of it. This teaser was enough to keep me going. Yes it was frustrating to blindly wait and see if the reboot generated enough interest for the series to continue on, but I was keeping my fingers crossed. Now that we have fast-forwarded into the future a bit, it seems that everything worked out.
Here very soon, season 11, is set to air on, January 3rd, 2018. Even better, we are getting, 10 episodes this time! This gives me hope that the series will have a chance to move forward into a new era. Hopefully it will inspire, and capture the hearts of a new generation.
