I want to share the life of my greatest mentor of all time. Unfortunately, she died last month and a couple of days from now we will celebrate her cuarenta dias. A Filipino culture which celebrates the 40 days of the death. They said that they're complete gone in our world. Some says they're in heaven, and some says they're in the purgatory.

Anyway, that person is my grandmother. She taught me everything. On why I am that great in business world and being followed by a couple of people. On why I am that good in handling money, that people consult me every now and then. On why people seek for my wisdom and advice, then I humbly give them advice.

My Lola Sarah raise my father and his siblings by having a karenderia or an eatery. Back in 70’s it was a trend. Her husband who turned out to be a taxi operator that time is her partner in business. The business is good but unfortunately only one child finished college. That was their youngest daughter. Even tho their good in business, still it is a business. If you don't level up or improve you can't compete with others. But that doesn't end the story of my Lola Sarah.

Who among you people are insured right now? If Yes, good for you. If not, bad for you. My Lola Sarah got her insurance at her 59. She died at 68. Imagine that age! I mean it's not completely an insurance but a micro insurance. That's why I'm wondering that time every friday she keep on asking me “Apo, may pera ka ba diyan? Penge naman lalagyan ko lang ang savings ko.” I was so curious about it. Only to find out that she was a member for almost 9 years and guess what!? when she died, her children doesn't suffer the burden of the death. You know, the expenses of the burial and the wake.

Roughly, her husband and children receive round 70,000 to 80,000 excluding the abuloy, the money given at the wake for burial assistance. The family’s expenses is around 50,000 only for the 3 days wake including the cremation plus the urn. Imagine that! What a terrific woman.

To my Lola Sarah, wherever you are right now your wisdom and knowledge will always reign upon me. I will share it to a lot of people just like what you always do and what you are the best of, sharing. Even tho we are a poor family, you never let it sink it in your mind not to help. I love you Lola Sarah, you are always here in my heart. Your number one apo and favorite apo.
