Leadership - A gamer's perspective!

Remember back when online video games were new and magical almost. Could get lost in a fantasy world for days on end, accompanied by the hundreds of people coming on the same journey with you. Ahhh, so many good and bad memories. xD

So these days, I'm Leader of this guild in this android video game I'm playing, Lords Mobile. I know its a crap game but I was bored, spare me :p Anyways, its a pretty tough game, also requires some spending of real cash, yet many people love it religiously.

So I'm trying my best to lead, make decisions, grow my guild, assign officer positions to various people I, or they, think can handle the task. Funny thing I've noticed through all of this? People are more willing and able to destroy and break things apart than they are to help create and grow.

And you see this not only in online gaming, that's also how people in real life are! True there are many amazing people creating awesome things every day, but now I realize just how much crap they must also take in the process, from people who are most often nothing more than seat warmers.

This was quite eye-opening but I will not let it deter me! I just have a lot more respect for people who take the pain and torture to create and develop new things, for others to enjoy. It must be quite a struggle. Hats off to the many leaders and creators whose work goes unappreciated. Don't give up! You know the value of what you do, even though it may be lonely there and all you receive is criticism for your efforts.

For the noncreative observers, I know you think your criticism is unique and quite intellectual, but maybe try giving a hand too, instead of just mouthing off. It's easy to rate someone else's effort when your own performance is not under the lights. Remember, together we can always do more!
