Amasra, ülkemizde antik şehir niteliği taşıyan eşsiz kentlerdendir. Antik yapısı itibariyle bünyesinde birçok eski eseri bulundurmaktadır.
Şehrin bu yapısı haliyle insanlarda bu tarihi eserleri muhafaza etme düşüncesini uyandırmış ve böylelikle Amasra Müzesi kurulmuş.
Bünyesinde bulundurulan eserler 1955 yılından itibaren toplanmaya başlasa da müzenin açılması 1982 yılını bulmuştur.
Amasra’ya giden herkesin kesinlikle uğraması gereken bir mekan olduğu düşüncesindeyim.
Daha müzenin içerisine girmeden bahçede sizleri tarihi eserler karşılıyor.
Bahçesini gördüğümüze göre içine girebiliriz. Müzenin iç kısmında antik eserlerin sergilendiği 4 teşhir odası bulunuyor.
Bu dört teşhir odasının ilkinde Bizans ve Roma dönemlerine ait eserleri görüyorsunuz: altın ve bronz süs eşyaları, bronz heykeller, silahlar, testiler, sikkeler…
İkinci teşhir salonunda ise yine Bizans ve Roma dönemlerine ait eserler bulunsa da bunlara Cenevizlilerden kalma eserler de eklenmiştir.
Müzede ayrıca Osmanlı dönemine ait eserler de bulabilirsiniz : silahlar, mühürler, seramikler, yüzükler, giysiler, halılar ve Kur’an-ı Kerim’ler…
Saymakla bitmeyecek daha nice eserleri görmek isterseniz müze, Amasya Küçük Liman mevkiinde Kum Mahallesi’nde yer alıyor.
