Plural rules
we make plural of nouns ending in s, z, x, sh and ch by adding -es
bus-buses, dish-dishes, box-boxes, dress- dresses, watch- watches, bush-bushes
We make the plural number of nouns ending in a consonant -y by putting i in place of y and adding -es
city- cit+i+es
lady- lad-i-es
sky-sk-i-es
we make the plural number of nouns ending with o by adding es
potato- potatoes
tomato- tomatoes
buffalo- buffaloes
hero- heroes
we change some nouns ending in -f or -fe into plural number by putting v in place of f or fe and then adding -es
scarf= scar+v+es= scarves
wife- +v+es=wives
some of the nouns change completely in their plural form
man-men
mouse-mice
tooth-teeth
foot-feet
goose-geese
child-children
some nouns do not change at all in plural form.
