Dalians sky today is extra Blue and it's all because leaders are meeting in Beijing to decide China's fate.
China has been know to cut down of production during important events so the sky is clear and photogenic. Is this really the case for today. I personally don't know but all signs point to less pollution as today is the lowest it's been all summer. People are loving it.

I just couldn't wait til Beautiful Sunday tag so I'm hoping this weather holds out of the holiday this weekend and I take a hike up a random hill here.

It's interesting how a blue sky can make your day here in China. I work with export here and we cooperate with around 50 suppliers. The government hasn't been doing a pollute raid lately and all factories are inspected. A lot have been closed down. None of the ones we work with, but a lot of others have been closed down. They have definitely decided to really take care of this matter finally .

You said it man. Hope this is long lasting. They closed some cola fired plants here last as the turned in a nuclear power station just out side the city. The days are better than last year. Now to solve traffic.

Yea the traffic is not easy for sure! I guess where there is a will there is a way, which is especially true when it comes to the Chinese government. I find it incredible the speed at which they make the first trains, it's quite astonishing.

Very true. I often wonder if they launched a small missile up explode chemicals into the atmosphere to make rain. I can say it didn't rain here the past few days.
What ever is doing it the sky so blue puts everybody in a good except grumpy gr.2 Chinese English teachers that complain to the head master i play too many games. Lol

That's called cloud seeding and it is very much a possibility. Fine particles in the air generated in large part by forests (get it, rain forest...forests cause rain, lol) are a big part of what causes water to condense and rain to fall from the sky. We can do it artificially if the moisture levels are high enough. But you can't pull moisture from air which doesn't have it over the long term. Plant more trees!!! Tangent aside. It's incredible how much it transforms the city when the pollution clears out. Pollution is less of a problem where I am now but my old city, Jinan, was horrific. When they would shut down manufacturing for big national holidays, it really brightened up the place.

Yea.. It is nice. I winder if workers get paid when the gov forces factories to close for a few weeks. National Day is coming up 7 days no work woo hoo.
Dalian used to be less smoggy I think most of it comes from other cities.

Yeah this is excellent! Just started work again after being off for the summer and already getting a break. I doubt the workers get paid but I imagine they don't want to work anyways. It's probably one of the few times a year they can return and go be with their families.
