Two more days, precisely on Wednesday (31/1/2018), important events will occur. Month shows three phenomena at once, namely supermoon, blue moon, and lunar eclipse, nicknamed NASA as a super blue blood moon phenomenon.
Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Dwikorita Karnawati said the rare phenomenon that can be observed in Indonesia arises because the Sun, Earth, and Moon are in one line. At that time, the Moon was at the closest distance to Earth.
"This incident is very rare, this phenomenon is only repeated more than 100 years," said Dwikorita in BMKG building complex, Jakarta, Monday (29/1/2018).
He explained, the lunar eclipse will start happening at 17:49 pm and enter the total eclipse at 19:51 pm. The peak of the eclipse will occur at 20:29 pm and the total eclipse ends at 21:08 pm.
If you are too busy and pass through, partial lunar eclipse can still be witnessed until 22.11 pm. The historic event will end at 23:09 pm. Thus, the total duration of the eclipse lasts for 5 hours 20.2 minutes.
The visibility of the lunar eclipse for more than 5 hours will only be seen in some areas, such as in Sumatra Island, Java Island to western part of East Java, and eastern part of Central Java, and few areas in West Kalimantan.
Outside the area, the lunar eclipse process can be observed in the lunar eclipse phase of the penumbra or at 18.48 WIB.
Observation of this natural phenomenon is certainly more interesting when done together. Therefore, some places in Jakarta will be opened and could be an option to enjoy this rare scenery.
They are Bosscha Observatory, Jakarta Planetarium, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Fatahillah Museum, Setu Babakan Kampung Betawi, and Bukit Tinggi.
"In addition (super blue blood moon) will also be observed at 21 points observation hilal we used to do observations there.In fact, in Makassar will also be watching together the phenomenon of super blue blood moon," continued Dwikorita.
