There are easy ways how to overcome procrastination that will drastically improve your overall quality of life. All people procrastinate from time to time. Minds always seems to create a reason why today isn’t the right day to do something – too busy, too stressed, too old, too tired and so on.

Procrastination (from Latin’s “procrastinare”, that translates in to: the prefix pro-, ‘forward’, and the suffix -crastinus, ’till next day’ from cras, ‘tomorrow’) is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. Sometimes, procrastination takes place until the “last minute” before a deadline.

Procrastination is a habit, which, can negatively effect your life, resulting in increased levels of stress, reduced performance, and productivity. The good news is that, like any habit, it can be changed, and it all starts with your mindset.

The question is “How can we overcome it?” What follows are some powerful strategies to overcome procrastination.

Strategy #1 One minute technique

When you have some big task ahead, just do it for one minute. Try doing some of the task for one minute without divided attention. Soon you will find motivation and do task whole. You can go by my motto: “You have to do what you have to do”.

Strategy #2 Pomodoro technique

It’s age old technique from cooks. Basically you set aside 25 minutes to just focus on one task only, no distractions. You will see, by doing task 25 minutes with undivided focus, you will be able to do much more, than in 3 hours with divided attention. Multitasking is the killer in this day and age. P.S. Turn off your phone!!!

Strategy #3 Nap for 15 minutes

Nap sometimes help. Sometimes you just are out of energy and only thing that could help is 15 minute nap. Be sure to set up your alarm, as nap longer than 15 minutes will take you into deep sleep and you will have bigger trouble. Don’t oversleep or you will feel bad.

Strategy #4 Plan it later

Not leave it for later, but plan it for later. I know, sometimes we all have feeling that there is not enough energy. It’s ok. Maybe morning workout is not your thing today, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do the workout, just plan it in the evening, that way your schedule will be updated and you feel obligated to do bad tasks. Try avoiding planning for next day, as we know- Tomorrow never comes.

Oftentimes, the actions that we take at a given time are based on the emotional and physical state, so to adjust those, you need to prepare in advance. If you don’t have a great day plan, then it will be hard. To plan your week better, I suggest trying my Udemy course- . That will inspire you to create plan to feel more focused and ready.

“Life rewards action. Nothing great is accomplished without it.”
