BLURT chart displays shitting-the-bed pattern

My incredible technical analysis skills have identified a rare but very significant pattern on the BLURT chart, the shitting-the-bed formation, which is precisely as bad as it sounds.

That chart shows 3 months of price action, with BLURT hovering near 0.003 USD, before steadily collapsing to about 0.002 USD over the past couple weeks.

Bitcoin is currently dropping away from its all-time high, but BLURT is crashing to its all-time low.

You can actually see the shitting-the-bed pattern on that chart, too. The main feature of this pattern is some shaky sideways action followed by a really bad selloff. Usually, several episodes of shitting the bed will be seen, with little relief between them. It can be a real mess!

Why has BLURT decided to stop following the rest of the crypto market? It followed prices down, over the past 3 years, but now that prices are coming back up, BLURT is just crapping all over the sheets and pillows.

Gold is at a new all-time high of $2400 USD, and BTC is pulling back after reaching a new all-time high over $70k. But BLURT is barely up from its all-time low. It has only been cheaper twice (in early 2023) when priced in US Dollars. When priced in Bitcoin, it has never been cheaper than it is right now.

If I had sold my $20,000 worth of HIVE and put the cash under my mattress for the past 2 years, instead of investing in BLURT and powering it up to support content here, I could buy 10,000,000 BLURT today.

Instead, I spent a few hours every day creating posts, participating in the blockchain, and curating content... grinding my way up to 1,050,000 BP after 11 years.

Take this post, for example. It might earn $1.50 in total, which means 75 cents for me (the other 75 cents goes to the curators). I'll power up that 75 cents worth of BLURT. Before long, the price will go down even further, and those BLURT will be worth 50 cents. Then later, 25 cents, and so on. That's what has happened to my whole stack.

I've invested tens of thousands into BLURT, and it all just keeps getting reduced toward zero. Everything I earn, too. I've created HUNDREDS of posts on these blockchains, that have brought in $50 to $100 each, sometimes even more. All of that has been saved, powered up, earning compounding interest. I never spend, I only accumulate. So where are all those $100 posts now? My entire stack is currently worth $2000. Are you telling me I've only had 20 of those $100 posts in the past several years of nonstop content creation? And nothing else I've ever done earned anything? Come on, of course not. I still have all those tokens I earned for those huge posts. They're just not worth anything anymore!

Would I like 2 years of my life back, thereby multiplying my crypto holdings by 10? Of course I would. But that's the past, what about the future?

The question is, will this continue? Are those of us who are participating here just wasting our time, energy, creativity, skill, investment, and more? After all, there are better blog platforms. Tons of them, actually! Blurt has a reach of maybe a few thousand people, maximum. Blurt is often down, or glitching. There are blog platforms, crypto or non, which work properly, are completely free, and get lots of traffic! Perhaps you don't get paid there, but let's be honest, you don't get paid on Blurt, either. My experience has documented that.

So if Blurt is inferior as a blogging platform, you can't earn anything with your content, and if you invest here it will be reduced to zero... many are starting to ask "what is the point?"

You're still here, so you see something in Blurt, or else you'd already be gone. Gone... like so many thousands of people who have tried Blurting. Some left years ago, others have just given up now, many will throw in the towel tomorrow. The few still here will read this and say "he's wrong, this place has some merit", but realize you're the exception, not the rule. The majority have already left, so they're not here to leave their opinion, agreeing with me. The few still here will disagree. And that's why you're still here.

I don't think there's any way I can do anything with the BP in my account, and it's only worth $2000 now anyway, so I probably won't be selling. My 1.05m tokens will continue to gain interest (more tokens), and continue to drop in value against other currencies. My tokens are essentially burned, because they'll never leave my wallet. Besides, if I sold, it would crash the BLURT economy! Sadly, I'm one of the biggest holders still around, other than the insiders with premined stake. (Little me is a Blurt whale now, hahah!)

I want to continue being optimistic, but that's increasingly just looking like foolishness.

Instead, I think I'm going to reduce my focus on Blurt going forward. I'll still post, but I can't really consider it my home base anymore. I haven't really made many connections here, the community is atrophying (grow or die), it's not going to be a source of income, I lost my savings, my voice isn't being broadcast... I'm not seeing the upside like I used to. I may get back into doing more videos, focusing on Rumble, Bitchute, Odysee, and YouTube (which has removed about 200 of my 900 videos, and counting). Or maybe I'll just reduce how much time I spend online. I'm having trouble seeing the screen nowadays anyhow.

Remember, just because something has already lost 99% of its value doesn't mean it can't lose ANOTHER 99%. And from there, another and another and another. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars (and many years of my time) to generate $2000 worth of BLURT tokens. But I fully realize that's not likely the bottom.

"FUD"? Nah, I'm not fearful or uncertain about it. And I'm not trying to get you to feel any particular way about it, either. That's on you. If I'm emotional about it in any way, it's regret. I regret getting involved here. I should have held my money in fiat, or in silver bullion, or in Bitcoin. I should have invested my time in my family or my health, instead of producing content for the blockchain.

Lesson learned.

Or has it? If I continue putting my time into this place, seeing no profit either financially or in terms of getting my message heard, doesn't that make me a fool? I guess if I'm in need of somewhere to blow off steam and waste a little time, sure. But I've got 2 little children, a disabled wife, and serious heart problems. I don't need something else to take up my time and drain me.

If the lesson has truly been learned, I would walk away, or at least walk mostly away. And I'm working on it.

Good luck to all!

It all comes down to the active user base. Hive and Steem really barely have enough of one to maintain value. Blurt's has always been smaller (or felt smaller anyway) and it has only gotten worse.

Nice plants, haven't heard that strain a while, what is your final conclusion on blurt? There are many social media blockchains now, I've been on Ecency the most which is essentially hive
