2022 BMW X3 M Competition pricing and specification
Updated performance SUVs quicker than before, with 50Nm extra torque
Redesigned exterior fascia's and revised interior headline styling changes
Priced from $160,900 plus on-road costs
Australian pricing and specifications for the 2022 BMW X3 M Competition performance SUVs have been confirmed, ahead of their local arrival in the fourth quarter of 2021 (October to December).
Mirroring changes to their regular counterparts, the X3 M Model Year 2022, plus revised front and rear ends, new active safety technology and BMW's latest interior styling (with a center console from the 4 Series passenger car range).
Available solely in flagship Competition guise in Australia, prices start from $160,900 before on-road costs in X3 M form – matching a low-riding BMW M3 Competition X drive.
Powering the models is a shared 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six, sending 375kW and 650Nm (up 50Nm) to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased M x Drive all-wheel-drive system.
BMW claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.8 seconds on the way to an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h (or 285km/h with the M Driver's Package, though it's not clear whether it will be offered in Australia).
A long list of standard features is offered – detailed in full at the bottom of this story – including 21-inch alloy wheels, three-zone climate control, dual 12.3-inch infotainment displays, adaptive dampers, wireless smartphone mirroring, a head-up display, and a panoramic sunroof.
They join a selection of new standard items for 2022, including laser headlights, Reversing Assistant, over-the-air updates, and the Driving Assistant Professional package, which includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and go, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, and more.
A range of optional packages are available, including the $1400-$2000 Rear Seat Comfort Package, $2000 Executive Package, $1400 Innovations Package, and $2500-$4000 M Carbon Package. A full breakdown of the contents of each package is listed at the bottom of this story.

A range of alloy wheel options, interior trim inlay choices and leather upholstery colors schemes are available, as are a choice red, black or blue brake calipers. The X3 M's black roof rails can also be optioned !
