Hello Steemians how was your weekend?
Mine was quit relaxed. Started the weekend with a night of board games.
Has been a long time since I played a board game, because of my back. Now I'm healthy enough to sit down a whole night and keep playing yihaa!

We played Pandemic (original and a few rounds with some extensions) and Saboteurs.

In Pandemic, several virulent diseases have broken out simultaneously all over the world! As a player you're a disease-fighting specialist to treat disease hotspots while doing research for a cure before for one of the four plagues get out of hand. Each player has a unique role in this game, and you need to team up against the game. With their specialist strength all the players need to work as one team to find the cure but the diseases are spreading quickly and time is running out. "For example, the Operations Expert can build research stations which are needed to find cures for the diseases and which allow for greater mobility between cities; the Scientist needs only four cards of a particular disease to cure it instead of the normal five"

If one or more diseases spreads beyond recovery or if too much time elapses, the players all lose. If they cure the four diseases, they all win!

Saboteur
This is my personal favorite! As a player you take the roll of a dwarf and you work in a mine hunting or gold. But not every dwarf likes to share the gold with the rest. Wait there is a saboteur? Yes there is! But which of the players are saboteurs? Will you find the gold, or will the fiendish actions of the saboteurs lead them to it first? After three rounds, the player with the most gold is the winner.

Players take on the role of dwarves. As miners, they are in a mine, hunting for gold. Suddenly, a pick axe swings down and shatters the mine lamp. The saboteur has struck. But which of the players are saboteurs? Will you find the gold, or will the fiendish actions of the saboteurs lead them to it first? After three rounds, the player with the most gold is the winner.

The game starts with taking a dwarf card. This ard assignes the player his role for this game (miner or saboteur). You need to keep your role a secret, and reveal it at the end of the round.

The playing field is each round different but the grid is always the same. You place three goal cards face-down and a start card (seven cards apart from each other. One of the goal cards is the one with gold, but no one knows which.

Each player has cards in his of her hand, on a players turn you have three options; play an action card, play a path card or pass. the path cards form a path on your way to the goal cards. They must be played to a already played path card, and must match those surrounding it. As a miner you need to build an uninterrupted path from the start to the goal cards. As a saboteur you need to prevent this, you shouldn't try and be too obvious about it, however, lest they be immediately discovered. Once a player places a path card that reaches the gold, the round is over. The miners have won and receive the cards with gold pieces as their reward. The round is also over if the gold could not be reached. In that case, the saboteurs have won and receive the gold pieces.

After three rounds the game ends. The player with the most pieces of gold being the winner.
