BoatPilot consists of three components: two software components (the BoatPilot navigation and the Pocket Skipper service app) and a hardware component (the BoatGod). The BoatPilot navigation combines navigation functions, while the Pocket Skipper supports all additional services, such as brokerage (listing vessels for sale or rent, based on specific parameters), marina rental, sailing companion search and tour proposals, and other capabilities. However, the BoatGod connects directly to the onboard systems of any vessel based on the NMEA standard, to collect and transfer marine data via Wi-Fi to a special intermediary storage called the Geo-Pool, to be used to update marine navigation charts.
