Bringing a boat to Key West? Learn about local marinas available with transient slips, mooring fields, and boatyards.

The Florida Keys are surrounded by typically warm and calm waters, perfect for the recreational boater. But be forewarned the water is very shallow! If you are not familiar with our waters and are new to boating and/or navigating, it would be better to leave the driving up to an expert. Charters of all types are available at most marinas.

Key West has a large mooring field with 149 moorings available for full-time and transient vessels. The field is located on the north side of Key West, at 24.34-600 N 081.47-225W, between Fleming Key and Garrison Bight. Keep in mind, this mooring field, and the rest of the water surrounding Key West, is a no discharge zone – meaning boaters must use pump-out services for their waste water (both grey and black water).
