I didn't think we had a predator problem in the city. Boy was I wrong! I think this is a bobcat. At first, I thought it was a lynx. We found her when we heard our chicken screaming at three in the morning. </3 He carried our chicken over to the neighbors yard and ate her. My neighbor went out with a spray water bottle not realizing it wasn't a small domesticated cat. Parks and wildlife says she probably has a den nearby. We are not allowed to trap her to protect our flock. Parks and Wildlife says we have lots of Bobcats in town. Wow! Hundreds of thousands of people and bobcats living in the shallows. Now, how do you build a bobcat proof chicken coop?
Not allowed to trap it? Shoot it. Not allowed to shoot it? Shoot it and cook it and feed it to your chooks :) no evidence, and oh those healthy dark eggs!

You can shoot big cats in Colorado in specific game management units if you have a hunting license. Trapping is legal in some units but not in urban areas. You can’t even shoot a bear in Colorado if it breaks into your house. If you do you can be arrested,jailed and fined. So ...we have to learn to live with the wildlife. Sometimes it’s a challenge. Parks and wildlife assured me it will move on in a few weeks. Fingers crossed 🤞

Yep that looks like Bob the Cat. :-) Can't help with making the coop Cat proof. I'm struggling with making ours Rat proof. Maybe I need a your cat. Our cats seem to think the rats are to big to mess with.
