It was a street that link two major roads. Left at the city centre, Bodija was a street structured to a modern standard with regular layout. It's road was straight, well tarred and smooth skid free. One could almost see a kilometre distance.
Trees by road-side provided shades for passers by from the scorching sun, and this gave the street a beautiful outlook.
I couldn't overlook the importance of trees during hot and rainy seasons especially the blockage of heavy storms from wreaking mayhem. The emission of oxygen and absorption of carbon dioxide were great assets of the tree leaves.
The leaves, and root of some trees are medicinal for those who know their value. Although, the local government authorities cherished the aesthetic magnificence of the street.
They frowned at defoliation, such as tree bark peeling, shedding of the leaves and root removal. The drainage system was fantastic, deep, wide and clean for free flow of water. Since refuse dumps were provided by the local government, nobody dumped refuse indiscriminately.
Though, there was not beauty in the pattern of buildings constructed on the street, still I love my city called Bodija.
