First let's talk about bodybuilding because it's the one I like the most and it's the one I practice at the moment

Bodybuilding

What is bodybuilding?

The practice of Bodybuilding, has as main objective to improve the aesthetics of the body, using to achieve this end : weights, dumbbells and bodybuilding machines.

Bodybuilding is much more than just a sport. This is a very complex process that requires a great deal of dedication from the athletes.

If you think that to practice bodybuilding just lift weight, you are completely wroooong!

Being a bodybuilder is practicing a lifestyle, after all, it requires a lot of care with food and with the use of supplements.

In general, we can say that bodybuilding is the practice of using progressive resistance exercises to control and develop the muscles of the body.

Pros of praticing this sport :

Proper nutrition(If you decide to eat by the principles of any general bodybuilding diet you are by default going to eat healthier, cleaner and smarter than the others who pratice an unhealthy life)
Physical health and basic strength(in bodybuilding you need to have a correct posture, by doing that, if you have a job that you are always in the same place, or a job that you need to carry weights, if you pratice bodybuilding you are safe)
Cons of praticing this sport :

Character and Mentality(the people who are attracted to the lifestyle are usually extra critical about themselves and seem to never be content with their body. Too fat, too skinny, too small, too bloated, and to weak)
Little Freedom(you “can’t” just eat when you’re hungry. You have a strict meal plan and your body needs its protein now! Every vacation or trip becomes a military operation. You need to meal prep, pack your supplements, make sure there is a gym around so that you won’t miss arm day, and so on)

Crossfit

What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life.

CrossFit is a branded fitness regimen created by Greg Glassman and is a registered trademark of CrossFit, Inc. Which was founded by Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai in 2000. Promoted as both a physical exercise philosophy and also as a competitive fitness sport, CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, calisthenics, strongman, and other exercises.

"CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide."
CrossFit coaches either develop their own daily workout or follow the "WOD" or Workout of the Day from the CrossFit website.

For example, a typical CrossFit WOD(Workout Of Day) may look like this:

Sample WOD:

20 Min AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)
100m Run
2 Burpees
2 Deadlifts 185lb
2 Pull-ups

Pros of praticing this sport :

Community(the sport, which doesn't have nearly as much history as Bodybuilding, weightlifting, or bodybuilding behind it is already carrying nationally recognized brand sponsors and has it's national title CrossFit games broadcast on major networks)
Strength and Cardio(crossfit a combination of strenght and cardio, and the ability to controll both of them is fascinating. More Strength you have, less cardio you will be able to do it, but in crossfit you combine those two without any problems)
Rapid weight loss(high intensivity workouts)
Cons of praticing this sport :

High Risk Of Dangering Your Life(There are some movements and WOD's, specifically those of the olympic lift heavy variety, that because of the community simply become too dangerous
Cost(it's really expensive, way more then a gymnasium

Why i have prefference in bodybuilding?
I prefer bodybuilding because in each series of exercises we have some time to rest (between 60-90 seconds), and also because in bodybuilding the training plans are more precise, simpler to understand.

In each day a certain part of the body is trained, in crossfit the whole body is trained without possibility of focusing on a certain muscle. That's why I love aesthetics!
