Remember when Sarah Palin (R-Alaska), the vice-presidential running mate of Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election, resigned from her post as Alaska's governor without even finishing her first term?

If you remember, good on you guys and gals!

Did Palin, knowing that resigning into her first term was political suicide, remain in the politics?

I'm not counting the 2022 election when Palin (who was endorsed by former U.S. President Donald Trump) ran for the congressional seat that was vacated after the death of its incumbent Don Young. I had completely forgotten that bit of political news.

The answer is “No.” If Trump NEVER entered the picture, Palin wouldn't have tried running for public office again.

U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) didn't get the memo. Given Boebert's declining popularity among the GOP's voter base and the recent scandal that involved her in acts counter to her claims of being a “champion of family values,” she will NOT seek reelection for her seat in Congressional District #3.

She's refusing to leave the political limelight, though.

Boebert's vacating her current seat to run for another congressional seat in the belief that she can salvage her political career. The seat Boebert seeks to covet is in the heavily conservative Congressional District #4 because it will be up for grabs. After all, its incumbent Ken Buck (R-Colorado) is not seeking reelection.

If Boebert thought she was going to have a hard fight with Adam Frisch (who has raised almost rhee times as much as Boebert), the Democratic candidate who's running for Congressional District #3, she's going to have a harder fight against a saturated GOP contest. Six candidates are vying for the GOP nomination to seek Congressional District #4 and Boebert's entrance will make her number seven.

Have you ever learned of the story about the “Little Train that Could?”

If you did, Boebert is NOT that Little Train.

Boebert does have a chance of winning that seat as long as she can win the GOP primary, but her fellow GOP rivals have plenty of ammunition to use against her. They can point out the incident during the live performance of Beetlejuice, the closing of her restaurant “Shooters,” her recent divorce, her 15-year-old son getting his girlfriend pregnant, and so on.

She's getting roasted by Republicans and Democrats for this “stunt.”

The upcoming series of GOP debates preluding the general election of Congressional District #4 will be entertaining. We can count on the national news outlets (NBC News, CBS News, BBC News, CNN, and more) to pay CLOSE attention to Boebert's campaign for Congressional District #4.
