The Tarsier Encounter

The third stop of our van day tour is the Tarsier Conservation Area. Here we got a close encounter with the famous Tarsier, widely known to be the world's smallest specie of monkey only found in Bohol.

At the reception area we were first given a brief idea about the creatures by the guide: Tarsiers are nocturnal animals and they easily get stressed by noise. So they told us not turn on the flash in our cameras and not to make too much noise while inside.

Unfortunately, those were the only better picture we got of the tarsiers because there were too many other tourists taking pictures as well and we could not get any more closer.

This time of year, which was November, when we had this tour is still not supposed to be the peak season for tourists but oh my! there still are a lot. Tourists are mostly koreans and europeans. This place indeed is a tourist magnet, peak season or not.

At the end of the trek, we are then taken to their souvenir shop with lotsa Tarsier stuff! from keyholders, ballpens, postcards, bags and just about anything that has the Tarsier on it.

It was a bestseller to the tourists!

And before we took off, our driver took a pictures of us from the outside.
