Police in Albania have arrested 27-year-old Turkish businessman Faruk Fatih Ozer who founded and ran the now-defunct crypto exchange Thodex. Albanian law enforcement has been trying to track him down since he fled the country with $2 billion in investors' assets. About 400,000 people are estimated to have suffered.
According to an announcement by Turkey's Interior Ministry, cited by Anadolu Agency and other Turkish media, Albanian Interior Minister Bledar Cucci informed his counterpart in Ankara, Suleiman Soylu, that Ozer has been captured in the city of Vlora. His identity is verified through biometric information.
