Three days after the demise of her father, director and producer Ram Mukerji, Rani Mukerji organised a prayer meeting in his honour held at the Iskcon Temple in Juhu, Mumbai. The solemn function saw a number of famous faces in attendance.
Rani's father breathed his last at 4 am on Sunday morning, and was cremated the same evening. He produced Rani's debut film 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat' in 1997 and directed Hindi films like 'Hum Hindustani' and the Dilip Kumar-Vyjayanthimala starrer 'Leader'. He also directed and produced the Rani's Bengali debut movie 'Biyer Phool', which also starred Prosenjit Chatterjee. Ram Mukerji was also one of the founders of Mumbai's famous Filmalaya Studios.
Rani immersed his ashes at the Sangam in Allahabad on Monday and was accompanied by her husband Aditya Chopra, brother Raja Mukerji and other family members.
