Why Bangladeshi Peoole Observe 17 March As National Children's Day?

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first president of Bangladesh. He was born on 17th March 1920. He was the most influentical person who lead the struggle for establishing Bangladesh from the British India and later from the Pakistan to protect the rights of the Bengalis. As the modern architect of ancient Bengali civilization, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is said to be the father of nation. He was the leader of the Awami League, founded by Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Vashani. He is known to the people as Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His wife name was Begum Fazilatunnesa. He had three sons and two daughters. They are Sheikh Jamal, Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Rasel, Sheikh Rehana and Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina is now prime-minister of Bangladesh. He was killed on 15th August 1975 by some native attendants. He was the first person who called for independence of Banglasesh and prepared the people of Bangladesh for all-round non-cooperation movement. On 7 March 1971, at a rally in Race Course ground, Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for independence of Bangladesh. As Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the architect of independent Bangladesh, so according to his birthday, on March 17, the National Children's Day is observed in Bangladesh.
