Another tree in my bonsai collection I want to share. This one is a Forsythia.
Known as a vigorous grower. It produced an amazing array of star yellow flowers in the early onset of Spring, making it a showstopper to showcase as a bonsai when most trees are still dormant in that time of year.
It does lose all of its leaves in winter, but tends to hold onto the hardy green leaves for nearly 9 months of the year. So it is also a beautiful hedge type tree providing a backdrop of constant greenery.
Growing inside a basket filled with pumice, it receives perfect fast drainage.
The nebari zone has thickened greatly, providing a sturdy base for the trunk and roots to extend from. All of the twisting surface roots have developed as a result of the inorganic soil it is planted in. This type of nebari is very ideal for creating an interesting bonsai.
From the reverse view, it becomes apparent this tree is lacking in symmetry, and it is lopsided to one side. In many cases this is ideal, so long as the tree follows certain rules of ideal proportion. However, this tree is a bit too heavy beyond ideal proportions. It needs more branches to alternate and expand the canopy more fully around the trunk.
Perhaps I can train the rightward branches to become the new leading trunk, and allow branches to expand to the right. Removing the other top branches on the left side, or the low branch on the left, it would help the eye flow from the base, along the trunk to the left, and then back up to the right where the top leaves are.

This tree is turning out to be one of the healthiest trees in my collection. Perhaps the George Foreman of my collection, no matter what stress it endures, it always looks like it is in pristine condition. The leaves never wilt, yellow, brown, turn spotty, get eaten, or fall off early. Likewise the trunk is impervious to damage from the sun, rain, insects, and animals. Any damage it suffers, it heals as fast as Wolverine.
I would put all my steem on this tree if I was gambling man guessing which tree would live the longest from my collection. I hope it brings many more years of joy and happiness to everyone viewing it exclusively here on the steem blockhain.
Be sure to follow my work this week. I'm in the process of sharing the whole host of bonsai trees in my collection. There is over thirty trees I am growing. That means you can enjoy more than a month of fresh content from @creativetruth's back porch.
