When you need to buckle up cause there is a storm out there...

This morning I spend a few minutes securing my trees to the bench. Last night a severe weather warning was issued for our region. They predicted strong winds and heavy rains.

I always stress and worry about these things. Number one reason being I'm not home to check on the trees every few hours. I leave early in the morning and return late at night after work. So if some thing has fallen over by the time I see it, it would have been like that for more than nine hours. If the container is damaged or the tree has completely come out of the pot and the feeder roots has dried out. There might be some die back on the tree.

This is why I strap my trees down and pray for the best. So trees fall over every now and then. I have come to embrace this as each bend, twist or break tells a story. Is that not what we try to recreate by bending the trees and applying the techniques that we have learn over the years.

“A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because her trust is not on the branch but on it’s own wings. Always believe in yourself” – Unknown
