“Boodle Fight is a symbol of brotherhood and equality among Filipino military by sharing the same food without regard to rank. This way of eating does not represent authentic Philippine culture where food is served and spread on top of the banana leaves.”
However, others say it’s because of lack of utensils. They have improvised the banana leaves as their plate and used their hands as spoon.
Furthermore, boodle fight has been part of a Philippine tradition where families, friends, neighbors or colleagues gather together to have a boodle fight as bonding. Anyone is free to suggest or bring a meal to add to the menu. There’s no limit how much food will be added in the middle but rice is always number one in the list.
For Filipinos boodle fight is not just about sharing food in banana leaves it’s also sharing the laughter and love by eating together.
