Gone 'Til November is recording artist Lil' Wayne's personal journal that he kept and wrote all of his experiences in while he was doing time in Rikers Island. Published on October 11, 2016.
If you're a fan of Lil' Wayne, I suggest you pick this book up at one point. All printed in Wayne's actual hand writing, which can be hard to read at times, but adds to the authenticity of the journal. I know most people probably expected some drama out of this one, but for the most part, his time at Rikers wasn't terrifying or anything like that. If anything, it was an unfortunate loss of time for a person who could usually have or do whatever they want. He writes down his day to day experiences as well as his agenda. He even talks about a wedding where two inmates married each other that he got to witness. Definitely a few laughs here and there. You can imagine that Wayne would try to make the most of his 8 month stay, and he got to know some pretty interesting people.
He talks about the kind of food he was eating, explaining the creativity of the inmates and the foods they could whip up with what they had. At one point he even talks about being on suicide watch as a job. He'd sit outside the cells at night time and stroll by every now and then, making sure no one had killed them self in their cell. All in all, pretty interesting read. I don't recommend you picking it up unless you're a fan of Wayne or genuinely interested in the book. At random, this may not be the book for you. For the fans, he includes a verse at the very end of the book from Tha Carter 4 that he wrote while he was serving his time. I thought that was dope to see.
