mature or immature love?

Hi everyone!
Today i want to talk about a old book that i'm reading, "The art of loving" by Erich Fromm, that was a german psychoanalyst and a sociologist.
This book has not a story, but it talks about love, the art of love. It has a psychological and philosophical base.
In this book, the author explain the two parts of love: the theoretical part & the practical one, the love between mother/father and sons, love in the occidental society and much more.
In the theoretical part, the author give the definition of mature love and the immature one.
The immature love says: i love you 'cause i need you.
The mature love says: i need you 'cause i love you.
Can you understand the difference?
"The mature love is union as long as it preserves its own integrity, its individuality."
What do you think?
Bye, Blonide.
