Gosh, it seems like just yesterday when we all finished our O.W.L.s and here we are, in August, sitting for our N.E.W.T.s - where has the time gone?

So, just as in the O.W.L.s, I have decided to be an Auror; I managed to complete the reading list for my O.W.L.s

Where we all just had to read one book per chosen subject, we now have to read multiple books per subject; for eg. during O.W.L.s I only had to read one book for Defense Against The Dark Arts (DADA) to pass, I now need to read 3 in the same subject.

There are 3 grades you can achieve: Acceptable (A), Exceeds Expectations (E) & Outstanding (O) - one book per grade; in my chosen profession, Auror, I now need to attain an "Outstanding" in DADA, meaning that I should read 3 books to pass.

Of course, as was the case with O.W.L.s where there were prompts for each subject, we now have prompts per grade for each subject. You also have to read them in order, A then E, then O.

So, here, I'm going to show the books I've chosen for each prompt :

DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS (Outstanding)

(A) Book that's black under the Jacket : Fantastic Beasts - The Crimes Of Grindelwald by J K Rowling

(B) Gilderoy's Memory Charm - the first book you remember on you TBR : And I Darken by Kiersten White

(O) Cornish Pixie! Swat it away with a book written by an English author or a book set in England : Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

CHARMS (Exceeds Expectations)

(A) Read a book that you think has a gorgeous cover : Charmcaster by Sebastien de Castell

(E) Read a comic / graphic novel / manga (or a book with less than 150 pages) : Kwezi Vol 2, Issues 4-6 by Loyiso Mkize

POTIONS (Exceeds Expectations)

(A) Polyjuice Potion: read your friend's favourite book : Warcross by Marie Lu

(E) House Ingredient: read a book with a cover in your Hogwarts House colour (blue) : A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams

HERBOLOGY (Acceptable)

(A) Mandrake! Quick, put your headphones on! Listen to an audiobook (if not - green cover) : The Girl With All The Gifts by M R Carey

TRANSFIGURATION (Acceptable)

(A) Read a book with LGBTQIA+ representation : The Upside Of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

And there you have it! Oh my gosh, wish me luck, you guys...!!!
