July was full of #Readathons for me and I managed to make a serious dent in my TBR - so much so that I fear I am running out of books to read...
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
This happens to be one of those cases where I did not know this was a book when I saw the movie - how I wish things were different!
The movie more than pales in comparison!
The book is excellent; well written, action packed, fast paced (but not too fast), brilliant story and lovable characters!!! Highly recommend this book!
Don't even bother with the movie...

Ruin & Rising by Leigh Bardugo
Ruin & Rising was certainly better than the second book and managed, for me, to tie up the story nicely!
As I said before; I'm a forever Leigh Bardugo fan!!

A Study Of Ash And Smoke by Yolandie Horak (eBook)
Epic fantasy at it's best! This story will blow you away!
Extensive world, beautifully written, amazing characters; if you love fantasy, you're going to love this book!

Wizarded Away by Mason J Schneider (Kindle App)
This was a weird little fantasy book...
Weird in the sense that things seemed random sometimes and there are lots of questions about why things happened, without any clear answers or revelations.
However, that being said, I really enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to getting book 2 someday!

The Inquisition by Taran Matharu
I was hoping that the second book wouldn't drag the story down, and it did not; it is as full of action, magic and twists as The Novice was and I am eagerly counting down the minutes until I can read Battlemage.
This series is swiftly becoming a favourite!

Heka And The Colour Thief by Dennis Devornak (Kindle App)
I am in love with the author's writing style in this book; of course, it's the only book I've read from this author, so I have nothing else to compare it to...
Beautifully written, poignant and whimsical!
If you could spin dreams, which colour would you use the most?

Wonder Woman : Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
Who doesn't love a good comic book?
Even though I consider myself a fan of the Marvel and DC universes, and I certainly have been enjoying the movies and stuff, I'm not one of those die hard fans that follow timelines and dimensional variances, then nitpick each spinoff with a fine tooth comb!
I read the book with the knowledge of who Wonder Woman was and that was it; just another story... and colour me blown away! Although, it should not have surprised me; Leigh Bardugo is an incredible writer and I am a huge fan of her work.
If you like superhero stuff, then definitely read this book - but, if you're a die hard, you should read it, too.

Matilda (Illustrated) by Roald Dahl
Matilda is one of those timeless stories that should be on everybody's shelves, especially if you have children, and this illustrated version is just perfect!!
A classic in every way; Matilda will still be charming readers, young and old, for decades to come.

Until next time...
