The Hero with a thousand faces by Joseph Campbell. I found this a tough read as it needs more to be studied than just read. It's extremely fascinating but for those who don't have time to read it I recommend watching the BBC documentary series, in which he discusses his thoughts. It's all super interesting I do recommend it to anyone who has the time to delve into the subject.
