So it´s the quarantine era and i want to recommend a book that caught my attention in an instant a while ago, The 48 rules of power by Robert Greene. I think all 48 laws apply to all events and people we cross paths with along the way to our goals so i´ll explain them 1 by 1 in my own words so you can apply them and reach the heights of power.
I really hope you can get something from this and use it in your veryday life, knowing this laws has certainly helped me reach my goals in what i do, im still in the middle of the way at my 27´s but you can certainly adapt and apply this laws to your life no matter the position you are in.
This book might seem evil for some, but it is a neccesary display of the laws that people in positions of power use against us, so, why can´t you use them against them?
"Law #1: Never Outshine the Master"
Is people really foolish or do they only sail with a fool´s flag? The strategy might be clear for some, just appear dumber than the smartest person in the room, this way they will confident and lower their defenses against you, appear timid and discrete and people will open up to you, being a smart-ass extrovert only makes it harder for people to feel attracted to you.
By saying this i don´t mean you should be a fool and act that part with everyone, just make those above you feel superior and try not to display all your strenghts.
"KEYS TO POWER
Everyone has insecurities. When you show yourself in the world and display your
talents, you naturally stir up all kinds of resentment, envy, and other
manifestations of insecurity. When it comes to power, outshining the master is
the worst mistake of all."
It has been like that since the beginning of human history, everyone wants to feel safe in their position. How would you react if you are at the top of your peak and you discover someone has abilities that threaten your position?
I have noticed that when talking to my friends, knowing too much of 1 subject is not much of a deal, but when it appears to them that you know plenty about every subject you talk about, even if your opinion is accurate or not, it bothers some, activating their insecurities against you, always know your limits and the limits of the people around you, appearing a little insecure might make others you talk to feel more comfortable around you.
In my job i noticed that when appearing a little insecure to my boss made him open up more, most people above you would want to share their knowledge, some would feel annoyed by your insecurity, so, only then, change your strategy but never do it mid-way, learn how to read people first. It took me only 1 and a half years to escalate to a Branch Manager position in an international company by applying this and other laws, you can also reach your goals no matter what your position is.
Always play from a perspective that gives you advantage against everyone above and below you in their position of power but don´t give away your strategy or people will notice, wait for your time to outshine your superior when times are critical for him, gauge his strenght and gather knowledge about his weak points so you can outsmart him when the time comes.
Remember that everything that goes up needs to go down, power eventually fades and it is a rule of life, however, this rules will help you climb to the heights of power and stay there long enough to reach your goals.
Here are all the laws i am going to explain in my own words, how i understand them and how i have applied them in my life.
See you in the next Post,
Happy Quarantine!
