"FLAWED; faulty, defective, imperfect, blemished, damaged, distorted, unsound, weak, deficient, incomplete, invalid. (Of a person) having a weakness in character." Flawed - Cecelia Ahern

Perfect Flawed. One word that truly describes humanity.

This book is about a girl who lives in a society that lives in perfection. Make one mistake and you are deemed flawed. Help a person who was deemed flawed and you will also be seen as flawed.
Celestine North is a straight A student who just wants to be average. She has the boy and the friends and everybody thinks she is perfect. Until one day she helps a 'Flawed'. Everything goes downhill from there. She goes through hell with her friends and family wanting her to lie about the events that happened on that day., but she cannot tell a lie to society when all she was trying to do was help someone.
Celestine is deemed as 'Flawed' and so now has to go through every day with the media chasing her around and hateful looks from everybody around her. She is convinced her life is over.

Reading this book has really opened my eyes as to what perfection is really considered to be. Most people would like to see themselves as perfect. As not having anything wrong with who they are. With being the person who is a role model and does everything right in the world. A person who sees themselves as perfect is really just deceiving themselves from the truth.

Why do people like to convince themselves that they are perfect?
Why do they like to appear perfect to a world where everybody is trying to be the same?
Why strive for perfection?

What happens in this book is an act of kindness and humanity, yet it is seen as being flawed because it was a 'perfect' person helping a 'flawed' person. Why does this seem so close to the society we live in? Is it because if we have money and status it means we are better than those who have nothing? Is it because we are striving to be something that we are not? Or is it because we want to be seen as 'perfect' and helping someone who isn't will taint our blood with imperfection? I guess we will never really know the true reason for why people want to hide who they are.

Society needs to learn that our flaws are our strengths and not our weaknesses. A lot of people have learned to accept who they are, flaws and all, but there are still those that want to change and be someone else because they don't like who they are and they think that if they change then the world will see them differently and it will make their lives better and really change who they are.
Accept who you are!
Nobody is flawless. Nobody is perfect.

I believe that you are perfect if you believe in and accept your flaws. Embrace who you are. Be who you are supposed to be. Don't pretend to be perfect just to please the guy you have a crush on or the girl you think is sexy.

Be you.

Be flawed.
