Should you read IT by Stephen King? // Spoiler-free Review & Discussion!

in books •  7 years ago

When I first picked up 'IT' by Stephen King two weeks ago it was mainly because of the new buzz surrounding the newly released movie, as I would imagine is the reason many are now considering reading the book themselves.

As any reader knows: The rule of book to movie adaptions is to always read the book first. In my video last week I tried to give you a little bit of a "guide" as to whether or not you should take the plunge and dive headfirst into those 1300+ pages OR just spare yourself the pain and skip to the movie...

In the end it really just depends on what you want out of the book. If you're going into it expecting a thriller or even a truly scary horror novel you will be disappointed - unless you're inherently terrified of clowns.

Nevertheless I enjoyed it for what it was, as a character study and a reminder of the special kind of friendships we form as children.

Happy Reading!
