Book Review! "Diary of an Unbroken Child," by Rich Quitliano

in books •  6 years ago

This book is an amazing glimpse at the 50's, 60's, and 70's in America through the eyes of a lost Deity.

Imagine if Loki were born a human, with all his magical powers intact yet with neither the control or the knowledge of how to properly wield them... Or imagine Bukowski, without the alcohol but expressing the same talent:

That's this book:

I'm reading it again for the third time, and it's such a unique and interesting story it ought to be made into a movie 🎥 🍿...

Think of the film as the love child between "Forest Gump" and the movie "Blow"

It's SO good!

Thank you Rich for the dedication:

Powerful words brother 🤝

I do have a couple of questions regarding the patois of the time and the meaning of those words.

Here are pics of those pages, to lend context to the words lost on me:

The first is "yards," in the middle of the page:

The second is "your flop," bottom left of the page, 4 lines up:

Illuminating the meaning of these terms would be greatly appreciated!

Have a great week everyone!

Merry Christmas Bernie!

Wow... That's going to be hard to live up to- Forrest Gump and Blow- I love it!

Ok, the terms- both are kinda old school. A "Yard" is slang for $100, a "Flop" is a place to sleep.

Thank you for your kind words Brother, I treasure your friendship always!

Awesome, thank you!
I sure hope you submit your book to some publishers, it's a page-turner man!
