Book Around You #4 - Curation of Book Posts

Welcome to the fourth edition of Book Around You, a curation project from @steemitbooks. It's been a few weeks since the last curation post (partly because I've been working on our curation bot) and it's (really, really) time for another!

Elend: I kind of lost track of time…
Breeze: For two hours?
Elend: There were books involved

Brandon Sanderson - The Well of Ascension
(I only read one book though, so this isn't really an excuse)

These curation posts will be as frequent as possible but sometimes life gets to busy to do them. But even if I can't write a curation post I do my best to check for book posts almost everyday to upvote .
That said, let's get into the posts!

Book Reviews

Book Comparison: The Magellanic Cloud vs. The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by @dedmops

Comparing and contrasting two books is a great way to review them, as it can really help you see their main themes. This is a fun comparison/review of two sci-fi books that @dedmops read. Two more books to add to my ever growing list..

And if you've ever wondered what you call two things being placed together with a contrasting affect: it's called a juxtaposition. If you didn't wonder...well, now you know another word!

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - Book Review by @bookleaf

A great little review of one of my favorite classics. I had never realized that it was such a influential book in its day. You learn something all the time! (and that's what books are for ;) If you haven't read it, give it a try. Like @bookleaf mentioned, the paperback costs only $3 on Amazon and you can download the eBook free.

RIP Philip Kerr - Author of the Incredible 'Bernie Gunther' Detective Series by @nobyeni

Books leave a mark on the world like almost nothing else can. Authors like Homer, Hugo, and Chaucer are far more well known today then many of the "important" men of their ages. @nobyeni has written a great memorial to Philip Kerr - sone that makes me want to read his books. The Alexandria library was a great loss, but how many dreams have never been written because their dreamer died?

Book Artists

Read Between the Wines #10: A Bookish Obsession by @shellyduncan

@shellyduncan is really getting a hang of these bookstagram images. Good to see some book photography out there! And all those book goodies are awesome :D There's nothing like buying a little thing to show how much of a fan you are. I personally am a proud owner of a Mistborn coin!

A Book in the Hand

This Is My Hobby - Reading by @chinyerevivian

Reading is like the best hobby out there! You aren't alone @chinyerevivian in your love for books. Generations of bookworms have read through the night with only a candle or flashlight to light their path. This is one reason why so many book readers (and almost every librarian) wear glasses. Thanks for sharing your love of books along with some of your favorites! ;)

All the Worlds You'll Never Know by @ladyrebecca

This post is just awesome. @ladyrebecca has done a spectacular job of showing us the worlds upon worlds that lie a few feet away inside a book. Like her I've visited so many places! Middle Earth, Cosmere, and 19th century France. Books are the best way to whittle away at time.

I opened up a book today,
And went a-sailing far away.
Into another place and time,
Into another's story.
